Food Rules: Your Dietary Dos and Don’ts
From a series in NYTimes where Michael Pollan and Tara Parker Pope asked readers to contribute their rules about eating.
Above illustrates why I was vegetarian for five years, plus the quote:

There are other less philosophical reasons to be vegetarian, such as use of resources, animal cruelty, etc. However, I’ve enjoyed my return to omnivorism and have realized life is too short to cut out meaty goodness from my diet. I still don’t think I would be able to cut the head off of a chicken before I eat it. You can do what you like.
